Hi All,
I was doing some lab last night with this particular concern because I do not like the yellowish glare you get a light bulb. Therefore it would be desirable with LED beysning that allows the car gets a more modern look.
At work, we have access to the LED strips in its different versions and I fell for those with a color temperature of 5000K (about 4200K from an original xenon lamp). As the shunt resistor, a 47ohm 4W was used and the total current consumption of the entire device will be about 280mA using a external 12V voltage supplier (original bulb has an outlet at 360mA).
This generate a calculated powerconsumption:
Orginalbulb=4,3W
LED-unit=3,4W
Wonder what value FIS gives you the warning?
However, it becomes hot, but it hangs in the air (same position as the orginal bulb) so time will tell.
Drove for a about 1 and a half hour and the glasscover were lukewarm, but no error message in FIS during this drive.
Please be aware of this is only a test and we have to see how long it will last regarding error messeages and the heat problem
By the way - took the opportunity to change the little cross screw to a Torx ditto
Cheers,
Jonte
